Dr. Heiko has worked in private practice with children, families and adults since 1983. She is a Teaching Member of the International Society of Sandplay Therapists and of the Sandplay Therapists of America, and has presented and consulted on Sandplay nationally and internationally, most recently in November of 2014 in Romania. She served as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for STA. Dr. Heiko has been published in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy and in Eliana Gil’s 2010 edited book, Working with Children to Heal Interpersonal Trauma: The Power of Play. Dr. Heiko is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), an Approved Consultant (Teaching Member) of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), and certified in Level II EMDR.
